Hi my name is Laura. I am a veteran's advocate.  Currently going to school full time and founding two veterans groups. Both are currently in their infancy and I would love any kind of feed back.

The first is www.gulfwarchemicals.com - an informational site that I started after my step-son contracted Acute Myeloid Leukemia after chemical exposure which occured during his time of service.  If any one has photo's of the burn pits or other toxic areas I would love to use them on the web site. The site is currently being re-done. I am taking web design classes and am hoping to be able to do a complete re-vamp soon.

The second project I am working on is Veterans Portfolios.  Many universities are using e-portfolios to show case their students and students are successfully using the e-portfolios for job hunting as well.  I believe that this would be a tremendous tool for veterans.  I am in the process of creating a non-profit organization to do just this.  I need every type of help imaginable.  So feel free to contact me and ask for more information.

Thank you!

I found the site while searching for photographs that I might use in flyers, brochures and websites.  So first, I would like to verify that it is alright to use pictures from this site for the veterans projects I do.

Additionally, I would LOVE input on the projects I am doing.  I am working on two projects now.

The first is www.gulfwarchemicals.com.  This is a site dedicated to giving information to veterans, active service members and their famileis that may have been exposed to chemicals during their time of service and then become ill.  I am re-vamping the site to make it more useful and visually appealing and additionally need to create brochures, flyers, etc.  As we get more active in lobbying for changes with the VA.  I have not updated the site in quite some time but the work of GWC is moving forward. I was invited to attend a hearing in D.C. in October with the Senate Committe for Veteran Affairs.  As a result I realized we need to give GWC a major make-over and more professional presence on the internet and in public. So I have gone back to school to learn web design, etc.  I was thinking perhaps the talented photographers here could help me with images and give input on logo ideas, etc.

My second project, Veterans Portfolios, is one I am just starting.  It is a huge project and is going to need all kinds of help.  Initially I am designing brochures, etc. for this and would also like feedback on the logo, etc.

Frankly, I would be thrilled for any and all help on either project....but am hoping for input on logo's right now.  Is that an appropriate thing to ask for on this site?

Thanks. The photos are in the public domain. That said, you may want to check with someone else if you have concerns. The photos here are just some of what's available at http://www.dvidshub.net   They should be able to answer any questions you might have.

I'll take a look at your site and see if I can't offer some thoughts. I may be able to donate a little time to come up with a logo for you if you're interested. My email is kpaul.mallasch@gmail.com if you want to see if we can work something out.

And thanks for the comments. We don't take the photos, but we try to pick some of the very best each and every day.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comments.
