U.S. donates $132,000 in medical supplies | 1 year 24 weeks | Transit Center at Manas Airmen unload about $80,000 of medical supplies at the National Hospital Aug. 13. The U.S. State Department approved the donation for the hospital as well as four others: National Trauma Center, National Surgical Center, Pediatric Hospital #3 and Besh-Kungei Military Hospital, to aid with long-term and follow up care for June victims of the violence in Southern Kyrgyzstan. Transit Center Airmen Lend a Helping Hand | 1 year 42 weeks | U.S. Airmen from the Transit Center at Manas, Kyrgyzstan, collected 8,000 COM (almost $200) and bought the Belovodsky Orphanage basic items including sugar, rice, beans, tea, clothing and other necessities, April 13. The trip was organized by humanitarian assistance director Lt. Col. Neal Linch and the Manas Area Benefit Outreach Society. Some donations were also given by Americans stateside for this and other humanitarian assistance projects in the city and surrounding areas. Getting Dirty | 1 year 48 weeks | Airman 1st Class Jason Rayner 376th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels journeyman shows how dirty his hands get from pumping fuel everyday. The 376th ELRS broke their own record, Feb. 18, by pumping 544,758 gallons of jet fuel in a 24-hour period.
