Marines Participate in Glendale's Memorial Day Parade During Fleet Week New York 2011 51 weeks 7 hours Marines with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, participate in a Memorial Day parade at Glendale N.Y. May 30. Various units from II Marine Expeditionary Force and Marine Forces Reserve have organized under the 24th MEU to form the to form the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force - New York. The Marines embarked on the Navy's Amphibious Assault Ships, the USS Iwo Jima and USS New York to take part in Fleet Week New York 2011 from May 25 to June 1. USD-C hosts 'Fallen Heroes' Run at Camp Liberty 1 year 23 hours Participants in the Fallen Hereos Run make their way along the run's course at Camp Liberty, Iraq, Sunday, May 22. The 10 kilometer race was run as part of Memorial Day celebrations as a way to remember and honor service members who died while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
