Saving Lives With Blood

Cmdr. Steven M. Blackwell, an anesthesiologist for 1st Medical Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 7, and fellow servicemembers, prepare to use blood received from a walking blood drive conducted at Camp Dwyer, Helmand province, Afghanistan, Jan. 15. The blood was used to help save the life of a wounded Afghan civilian.
