Petty Officer 2nd Class Elizabeth Clements, aerographer's mate, prepares to release a weather balloon from the fantail of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson to analyze atmospheric pressure and temperature. Carl Vinson is taking part in Southern Seas 2010 as part of a scheduled homeport shift.
