Mississippi Army National Guard’s 298th CSSB Arrives in Afghanistan
Soldiers of the Mississippi Army National Guard's 298th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion arrive at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, Feb. 26. The unit is deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and will provide logistics support for American and coalition forces throughout southern Afghanistan. The unit is commanded by Lt. Col. Lynn Pippen, whose hometown is Monticello and Command Sgt. Maj. William Ward of Hattiesburg, Miss. The unit is based out of Philadelphia, Miss.
