Soldiers in the 2011 Oregon Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition begin the three-mile "ruck run," at Camp Rilea, Warrenton, Ore., March 12. Soldiers had to complete the run with a minimum of 35 pounds in their rucksacks. The three-day event pitted Oregon citizen-soldiers against one another as they competed for the title of Oregon’s Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer of the Year.
