An Afghan national army 203rd Corps artillery soldier pulls the handle to fires a D-30 Soviet 122 mm towed Howitzer during field weapons training, Oct. 26, in Gardez, Afghanistan. On this particular day, the soldiers fired high explosive rounds with a point-detonating fuse. The Howitzer fires 6-9 miles away from its target.
