USS George Washington

Petty Officer 3rd Class Jennifer Walker, a gunner's mate from Dallas, uses an M14 rifle to fire a messenger line from the aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) to the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Tippecanoe (T-AO 199) as Petty Officer 2nd Class Jeremiah Street, a gunner's mate from Fayetteville, N.C., stands by as a safety observer. George Washington, the Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, is underway helping to ensure security and stability in the western Pacific Ocean.
