Marines Conduct Raid on Lakari Bazaar, Face Enemy

Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher T. Wood, corpsman, 2nd Platoon, Company F, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines and Point Pleasant, W.V., native, rests momentarily after a 12-hour raid on the Taliban-controlled Lakari bazaar July 18. Approximately 270,000 pounds of poppy seeds, 33 bags of opium and 13 bags of hash were seized and destroyed.
