Units of whole blood stand ready at Afghan National Police Training Support Site Costell for transport to Kandahar Regional Military Hospital, to ensure the hospital has a large supply of blood on hand through Ramadan. During the Muslim holy month, the faithful abstain from eating during daylight hours and thus can’t eat snacks to stabilize their blood sugar levels after giving blood.
