Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command Oscar Team members, Marine Capt. Ernest Nordman (left) and Army Staff Sgt. Jordy Anthony move a log at a site in the Betio Village of Tarawa, Republic of Kiribati on Aug. 13. Nordman's team is in Tarawa to recover remains of Marines from the Battle of Tarawa, which took place in Nov. of 1943 during WWII. 1,113 Marines assigned to the 2nd Marine Division were killed and 2,290 were wounded.
