USS Cole: 70-pound shell speeds through the air during exercises

A 70-pound shell speeds through the gun blast of the 5-inch gun aboard the guided missile destroyer USS Cole during a live fire exercise. Cole is participating in Exercise Joint Warrior 09-2, a United Kingdom-led, multi-national and multi-warfare exercise designed to improve interoperability between allied navies as well as to prepare for a role in combined operations during upcoming deployments.
