Engineer Soldiers Cut Ribbon 1 year 11 weeks In this image released by the Texas Military Forces, soldiers with the 836th Engineer Detachment cut the "ribbon," officially welcoming the detachment to Austin. The 836th Eng. Det. Is a part of the 6th CBRN Task Force, a unit trained to augment civilian emergency response in the event of a chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear incident. Port Arthur Oil Spill Clean Up 2 years 16 weeks Cleanup crews tend to oil in the Sabine-Neches Waterway in Port Arthur, Texas, Jan. 25. The oil spill was caused by a collision between the Eagle Otome, an 807-foot Singapore-flagged tank ship, and the towing vessel Dixie Vengeance, which was pushing two barges. An estimated 450,000 gallons of crude oil was spilled into the waterway due to the collision. A Unified Command has been established and cleanup crews have begun the cleanup process.
