Marines, Afghan National Army Secure Bazaar, Speak With Village Elders | 2 years 3 weeks | While ridding the Salam Bazaar in Helmand province of known Taliban activity, April 14, the Marines of Company A, 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, Regimental Combat Team 2, along with the Afghan national army and the Afghan national police encountered heavy resistance from insurgent forces. Panjshir Hosts AEW Commander | 2 years 3 weeks | Soviet military equipment, including the pictured gun, sits atop the hill that houses the tomb of Ahmad Shah Massoud, "Hero of the Afghan Nation," who was killed in 2001.
