Sharana Breaks Ground on New Women’s Health Training Center | 1 year 29 weeks | Gov. Moheebullah Samim (right), the governor of Paktika Province, shares a laugh with Col. Malik Tanai, Paktika Province executive director, during the groundbreaking ceremony for a women’s health training center in the provincial capital of Sharana Oct. 26. Currently, the training program for women is operated out of the undersized Sharana Hospital. The new facility will contain classrooms and laboratories for improved curriculum, as well as dormitories for students and their families to use for the duration of the 18-month training program. “I am happy and honored to be here today to help break ground on this useful facility for women’s health in the province. This is a great step forward for development and advancement of women in the province,” said Samim. The event was attended by several members of the provincial government, as well as several local media representatives.
