Armistice Day Flag 1 year 27 weeks Caporal Chief Jean Francois Humblot, Eric Flitika and Palnick Maquet of Task Force La Fayette raise America, French and Afghan flag during a French and U.S. ceremony today at Forward Operating Base Morales-Frazier as part of the FOBs observation of Armistice Day. Members of Provincial Reconstruction Team Kapisa were part of the U.S. personnel who observed the ceremony. Armistice Day, or Veterans Day as it is known in the U.S., remembers the end of World War I on the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month in the year 1918. In that war as in the Revolutionary War to World War II and through today in Afghanistan, French and American forces have stood side-by-side as allies and friends. The mission of PRT Kapisa is to help facilitate the local and national governments of Afghanistan working together to help provide for the development and security needs of the Afghan people.
